The TransitionSource Team
The Transition Services Professional Development Support Center (PDSC) provides resources and support regarding secondary education transition and career development for students with disabilities. As part of this effort, the PDSC provides TransitionSource, a web-based resource supporting effective practices, connections to statewide and national resources, collaborative planning for transition services, and group communications.
The Transition Services PDSC is located at Cornell University, Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability.
Nancy Hinkley, PDSC Project Director
Nancy is on program teaching faculty at Cornell University’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability (YTI) in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations Extension Division at Cornell University. Nancy joined YTI in 2005 following two decades in NYS professional practice as a special educator, specializing in secondary special education instruction, program development, and school administration. From 2009-2014 she served as PDSC project faculty. Previously, from 2005-2009, she served as a member of the NYS-funded Transition Coordination Site conducting outreach work within two large regions of NYS.
Kelly Clark, Program Director & Senior Extension Associate
Kelly is on teaching faculty at Cornell University’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability (YTI) in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations Extension Division and Cornell University. Kelly Joined YTI in 2018 after completing her PH.D. in Special Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her doctoral program, she worked for the National Technical Assistance Center on Transition (NTACT) where she assisted in providing professional development and technical assistance, creating products (e.g., toolkits, lesson plans, quick guides), and reviewing the literature for evidence-based practices in transition. Prior to her PH.D. program she was a secondary special education teacher for eight years, with additional certifications as a secondary math teacher and curriculum and instruction specialist.
Ellice Switzer, Project Associate & Content Development Specialist
Ellice joined Cornell University’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability (YTI) in October 2017 as a Project Associate and Content Development specialist, providing professional development and technical assistance. She has nearly 20 years of university and nonprofit experience in the field of disability. Ellice develops content across multiple modalities and provides content development expertise and training on topics related to the intersection of special education transition services and other areas of disability policy.
Alan Sharafi, Project Administrative Assistant
Alan joined Cornell University’s Yang Tan Institute (YTI) in April 2018. He provides administrative support to the PDSC.
